It is our privilege and honour to announce the revival of India's famous international motoring event, Himalayan Rally 2.0. Our special thanks and appreciation to the Government of Uttarakhand and Uttarakhand Tourism for their generous support in sponsoring this event.

The Himalayan Rally of the 80s was the brainchild of the late Nazir Hoosein. Some memories never fade. Ask any motorsport enthusiast, and they will proudly recall the Himalayan Rally and its ever-popular four-time champion, Jayant Shah, who became a household name in every town and village the rally passed through during its eleven editions across the challenging terrain of the High Himalayas.

By bringing you Himalayan Rally 2.0, we hope to revive the challenge and spirit of motoring in the beautiful Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand, known for its natural beauty and its unique challenges and in turn bring the spirit of The Himalayas to every corner of the world.

THE HISTORY

The original Himalayan Rally quickly established itself as one of the world's most respected endurance rallies. Covering open plains, riverbeds, dense forests and high-altitude Himalayan passes reaching 14,000 feet, it tested both driver skill and machine reliability in equal measure.

India's first truly international motorsport event, it earned the support of the Ministry of Tourism and, with Air India's assistance, became a round of the Asia-Pacific Rally

Championship. Each edition attracted over 120 entries, including factory teams from

Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Opel, Mazda and Maruti, firmly placing India on the global

motorsport map.

Across eleven editions, the Himalayan Rally became an enduring symbol of adventure,

resilience and international competition, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of motorsport enthusiasts.
